For it is the words that are not said
That grows about us rising taller than trees
So if I think it, I must then say it
Whether the world should listen or turn away
Tonight drags me down fast to the safe
Needed repair of deepest sleep and yet,
The heart claws and hungers still
For the last, sweet, gasp of air remaining
So that with my last thoughts and actions
I hurl the words I need you to hear,
Toward you, that you may as your eyes close
Know how I love you tomorrow
So come the day and release me from sleep
That I may know my heart is waiting
To give all of its sweetness to the one
I call my own for the hours shall rush by
Like the raging tides that flood inland
And then disappear back to the sea
