Gathering brown arms reach out Landed rain damps wizened skin
Penetrates the deep, green armours
Leaves float lost upon sunless bough
Twist and curl in yellowing rage
Hurl Lammas leaf as last defiance
To the jaundice of autumns approach
The crows leave the hairy crown
Squirrels delve to the heart of the tree
