She-wolf

The moon rises over her
Silver wolf fur gleams
A she-wolf comes
Torn from western isles
White fur and wide paws
But she is no sibling
And deadlier than the male
This distant ungentle canine
Soft and yielding naught
Thus does the alpha male
Look up to the full moon
Upon the summer night airs
And wish for the peace
Of his glorious yesterdays
And he shall have it
In just a little while
Ere she returns home
